Channel 7’s Sunrise Comes To Drummoyne Pool

Next Tuesday morning from 5:30am – 11:00am on 15th January 2019, Channel 7’s hit breakfast show, Sunrise, will be down at Drummoyne Pool. They will be filming their half hourly weather crosses from pool deck.

We strongly encourage our members, both parents and kids, to come down early, do some laps, and perhaps get on camera.

Let’s get down there in full force and show the country our unique Drummoyne spirit!

Swim Club Returns Next Week

Swimming Club resumes Saturday 19th January 2019. We can’t wait to see everyone back on pool deck ready to get back into it and make a splash.

All of our members are encouraged to bring along a friend for a free trial. They can experience a typical Saturday morning meet and get their new year fitness regime off to a flying start! We are always excited to have new members joining the club, so spread the word!

We hope to see many of our members back at the pool for our first 2019 meet!

Back On Deck In The New Year

On behalf of the entire Committee at Drummoyne Swimming Club, we wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and end of year break. Enjoy the holidays and we will see you back in the new year!

Swimming Club returns on Saturday 19 January 2019 and we hope to see everyone back on pool deck!

The Year Ends With Festive Cheer

Despite a slightly cloudy morning last Saturday, our members turned out in full force for the last meet of 2018.

The main event of the morning was the 50m Breaststroke Championship heats. Swimmers raced as fast as they can to grab the last championship points for the year. The open mens and womens heats were both tight races with Adam Lewis and Annette Jamieson taking out the heats respectively. Congratulations to all swimmers who made the final!

The long arms snatched it!

After the excitement of the championship the BBQ came out in full force.

The sausage sizzle was delicious and we had a very special guest from the north join us on pool deck. Santa came down and gave out some lolly bags and took some photos with the kids. There were even some wish lists exchanging hands!

Happy holidays from everyone at Drummoyne Swimming Club! 🎄🎄 🎄

Santa Coming To Sleigh On Pool Deck

This week is the final swim club meet of the year!

As with swim club tradition, we will be throwing a free sausage sizzle to rev swimmers back up after their 400m freestyle!

We will also have a special visitor from The North Pole, the jolly red and white gift giver himself, Santa Claus. We got word from Mrs. Claus that he has left the ice mansion and just passed over Alaska last night. 🎅🏻

We hope to see many of our members there for a fun end to the year!

Swimming club will be back on 19 January 2019.

2019 Battle On The Bay – Save The Date

Every year our club competes in the Battle on the Bay Swimming Carnival against other swimming clubs in the Inner West.

The Battle on the Bay Swimming Carnival is a competition between neighbouring swimming clubs located around and nearby the Iron Cove Bay area. The carnival allows swimmers of all ages and abilities to come together and participate in an afternoon of competitive swimming, mixed with plenty of fun and good sportsmanship. The fastest swimmers in our club will be competing for the Age Group medals, while every swimmer can earn valuable points for their Club by swimming to the best of their ability to win the ultimate prize – the Battle on the Bay trophy!

This year our club will be hosting the carnival down at Drummoyne Pool on Saturday 9 March 2019 between 3pm-7:30pm, after Swim Club in the morning.

We would love to have as many of our members there to help us reclaim the trophy on home turf!

More details to come.
