DSC Men’s Social Night coming up…
A call out to DSC blokes (swimmers, parents and carers, grand parents etc) to come along to our annual men’s night out next Thursday the 23rd of November at the R&B Grillhouse, Drummoyne.
It would be helpful if you could please RSVP via the event on TeamApp so we can book a table for the right number of people. But if you’re going to be a late entry just come along anyway.
The evening starts at 7:00.

Bring Back Your Trophies Please!
Trophy races heats are coming thick and fast over the next few weeks. Perpetual trophy finals will start soon. So… that means it is time to bring back trophies that were presented at the prize giving night. Please bring club trophies back by Saturday 2 December.
Time to Register Now!
Completed a free trial? Enjoyed Squads or racing? It’s time to register!
The season is now well underway and we would love all swimmers that have been participating in squads and/or Saturday races to join up as Drummoyne Swimming Club members.
It is important that swimmers are registered members as registration fees help us cover the costs of running the club. More members allows us to keep fees as low as possible.
Season 2023/24 memberships are now available to purchase via the Swim Central portal.
Since last summer there have been changes to the ACTIVE KIDS voucher (dropping from $100 to $50) and increases to Swimming Australia / Swimming NSW fees. So in response we’ve made a few tweaks to our membership structure and fees, namely:
- We’ve added a junior club swimmer category with a reduced fee to offset the impact of the reduction in the ACTIVE KIDS voucher, and
- Increased fees on a couple of fee categories to help cover the club’s costs.
Our new Membership Categories and Fees are as follows:
Member Category | Standard Fee | Family Concession Fee |
---|---|---|
Club Swimmers* | $110 | 15% discount |
Club Swimmers 10 years and under at 31/10/2023* | $85 | 15% discount |
Second Claim Members | $80 | 15% discount |
Squad Members | $80 | 15% discount |
State Competition Swimmers | $130 | 15% discount |
Non-swimmers (Spectator/Supporter) | $35 | 15% discount |
Life members | nil | nil |
* Unless you are planning to swim competitively for Drummoyne at Swimming NSW sanctioned events the Club Swimmer category is likely to be the one for you.
Instructions on using the Swim Central portal, read here:
How To Register With Swim Central – Swimming Australia Online Support Portal
ACTIVE KIDS vouchers can be redeemed when registering your child.
More information is available on the club’s Fees and Registration page.

Results Week 6
Week 6: Double Trophy Heats – Backstroke and Medley
This weekend we continue the heats for our perpetual trophy races with the Tom Brown 50M Backstroke handicap event and the Five Dock Rotary 200M Individual Medley.
Last season the amazing Eloise Pidd held off a strong finishing field to claim the Tom Brown trophy. A large contingent of the Brown family were on hand to present it to a beaming Eloise. While the equally amazing Georgia Romaniuk took out the Five Dock Rotary 200M Individual Medley Trophy – a huge effort in a really tough event.
After a cool morning last Saturday this week the forecast is sunny and warm so make sure you set the alarm and come along.
Our program is as follows:
Event | Detail |
Sprint | 100M Freestyle 50M, 30M or 20M Freestyle |
Form Stroke | 50M* Backstroke 50M 30M or 20M Backstroke The 50M Backstroke races will serve as the heats for the Tom Brown Backstroke Handicap Trophy. |

Results from Week 5
There are a few corrections to results from last week. They have now been updated on the results page.
Timekeepers Needed
Just a reminder that we always need parents and swimmers to act as timekeepers! This helps ensure our races run as smoothly as possibly on Saturday mornings.
If you are swimming as well as timing it is a good idea to team up with someone that swims different heats to you.
Timing is very easy to do – just pick a lane and press the buttons on the blue stopwatches when your swimmer touches the wall.
The final step is to write down the times on the stopwatches onto the time sheet, in case we need to refer to them as a backup.
Each week we need someone to act as the chief timekeeper. This role sounds fancy but it’s quite simple too. The chief timekeeper gets to hold the walkie talkie and answer queries from the club room about times in particular races.
You can nominate to act as Chief Timekeeper using the duty roster function in this week’s event on TeamApp.

We welcome any feedback or other suggestions for keeping races moving along.
