This Saturday’s Events

There’s another big morning of swimming coming up this weekend, including a special presentation to the winner of the George Wheaton BBB trophy by the Wheaton family! 

The program for Saturday 24 November 2018 is as follows:

Sprint– 

  • 100m Freestyle Special Events – Week 1
  • 100m Freestyle Handicap
  • 50m, 30m and 20m Freestyle Handicap

This is the first week of a six week series during the season for the 100m Freestyle Special Event trophies, which are awarded to the overall winners  in the following categories:

  • Molly Wark (Girls) U/10 (8 and 9 year olds)
  • Les Henry (Boys) U/10 (8 and 9 year olds)
  • Women’s 35 and Over
  • Men’s 35 and Over

If you are in one of the above age groups and haven’t yet swum a 100m Freestyle, you can swim a 100m Freestyle Time Trial this Saturday and receive 1 point towards the series score.

Congratulations to Cara Parker and Joseph Colley on being elected Girls’ and Boys’ Club Captains for the 2018-19 season! 

We thank you for volunteering your time to assist in running the Club on Saturday mornings and look forward to you both leading the Club to victory in this season’s Battle on the Bay Swimming Carnival!

Men’s Night Out

Following on from the success of the Ladies Night Out, we would like to invite the men of the Club to have a night out too. The night is a perfect opportunity to welcome our new members and connect with existing members over a drink and a meal.

Time: 7:30pm

Fees and Trophies

Just a reminder to all members that Club fees need to be paid ASAP. All  members from last season will have received an email with a link to renew their fees. If you didn’t receive the email or are new to the Club and need help with the process please read the joining information here or contact our Club Registrar, Michael Donnellan on registrar@drummoyneswimclub.com.au or mobile 0422 453322.

Also it is essential that any members with Perpetual Trophies from last season return them. If you could bring your trophies to the Club house on Saturday morning that would be greatly appreciated.

Club Captain Election

This Saturday on pool deck, members of the Club will be voting on who they would like to see as this season’s Club Captains. Club Captains are fundamental part of the Club and valued by all members.

Main responsibilities of the Club Captains include:

Attendance – Regular attendance every Saturday.
Assistance – Regularly assists to help run races very Saturday morning. Arrives on time to help set up and stays to help pack up.
Role model – Acts responsibly and is a role model for all DSC Juniors.
Battle on the Bay (BOB) – Assists in all facets of BOB including organising juniors in their heats and relays. Masters of the cheerleading.
