Results Week 3

The results for Saturday 26 October 2024 have been published here.

It was yet another beautiful day at Drummoyne Pool despite a few clouds, the sun had a chuckle with the wind as the swimmers splashed away in the spirit of competition!

We had the honour of our newly re-elected Mayor and Club Patron Michael Megna presenting the coveted Canada Bay Cup, following the thrilling 8x50m relay. First butterflies and awkward freestyle strokes of the season made the water as busy as Pitt Street during peak hour!

Handicap Point Score Highlights

  • Mind-blowing 50m Freestyle: Young Ava Cochrane showed everyone how it’s done, shaving off a couple of seconds to claim victory in her heat with a finish of 50.82 seconds. You little beauty!
  • Eager Competitor Alert: Henry Godden must have been daydreaming; no race recorded! Gotta press that start button there, mate.
  • Kudos to the Old Guard: Phil Hayward clocked in his 48.51 seconds with the wisdom of a seasoned pro, keeping the younger ones on their toes.

Butterfly Flutters and Medley Madness

  • The Great Butterfly Take-off: Adam Christodoulou, when he decided the time was right, clinched his heat with a stunning time of 39.24. Turn your wings into gold, mate!
  • Nifty 4x50m Medley: Team effort was on full display with results all over the map. Nonetheless, Neave Murdoch’s time of 3.04.31 brought in a solid finish in her category.

Relay Razzle-Dazzle

Russell Lea Little Rippers made a splash, but Bay Area Barracudas took home the prize with a time of 5.21.42. Now that’s how you fair dinkum swim your hearts out!

Rivalries and Family Face-offs

  • Anna Rapisarda enjoyed some time in the spotlight this weekend. The Douglas family, though, might need chops for dinner after a family splash by young Patricia!

Birthday Cheers and New Joiners

A joyous shout-out to Frances Christodoulou who not only celebrated another splendid year but hit the waters as fresh as a daisy! Meanwhile, our newcomer Elysha Fazzalaro joined her very first club meet, and who knows, might just be the next Thorpie!

Next week’s meet promises to spice things up even more with a few rematches lined up and a chance for some of you to better your PBs. Until then, hang your goggles, rinse your cossies, and prepare to make a bigger splash next Saturday!
