There was some pretty exciting swimming on last week with the Fukuoka World Aquatic Championships. But, even more exciting than that were the performances of Drummoyne club swimmers at the ACT Winter Short Course Championships. The event was held at the AIS pool in Canberra.
Erica Bhatti, Jessica Bell and Hayden Howard were all in Canberra over the weekend churning up the pool and fighting it out with kids from Canberra and all over the State.
Hayden placed 3rd in the 9-12 200M Breaststroke race and set new PBs in all 6 events that he entered.
Erica secured PBs in all her events and achieved a 2nd place in the 11&U 50M Backstroke and a 3rd place in the 12&U 100M Freestyle.
Jessica secured 4 PBs in her 5 events.
Well done to our swimmers! If they keep improving they’ll be back at the AIS on residential swimming scholarships!
Even though they are Drummoyne swimmers it would be rude not to acknowledge that the kids were representing the clubs that they do their squad training with. Erica and Hayden were representing Leichhardt and Jessica represented PLC Sydney.
