Well the Battle on the Bay carnival was a wonderful afternoon. Great weather, great racing, great BBQ and great company. Thanks to all our competitors who swam wonderfully and especially to all the volunteers who helped the carnival run as smoothly as ever.
Check out the results page to read up on all our swimmers performances.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the 2024 Battle on the Bay on Saturday 17th February 2024, included the many volunteers who helped to run the carnival like clockwork. We have received very positive feedback from other Clubs who expressed envy at the many Drummoyne family and friends who willingly help us in running such a successful carnival.
The full results of the carnival have been published here, including the many medal winners from Drummoyne. Congratalations to everyone who won an award and swam PB’s in our annual battle against the other Clubs!
Firstly we have normal Saturday morning racing with both a championship event and a trophy race.
The trophy race is the Tom Brown 50M backstroke handicap final. The race is named in honour of Lynette Brown’s Grandfather. What an amazing connection the Brown family have with the club.
Then, after just a couple of hours rest we have the 15th installment of the Battle on the Bay. Will this year be our year?
The race order this Saturday morning is:

Pool Entry Fees
A friendly reminder for swimmers and spectators that the club’s user agreement with Belgravia Leisure – who manage the pool – does not cover pool entry fees. All swimmers and spectators attending our swim club meets and squads must pay pool entry fees with each visit (via casual entry fees or by scanning multi visit passes).
Payment of entry fees allows Belgravia Leisure to maintain the quality of the facilities and services.
If a pool attendant is not at the entrance when you arrive please make sure that you pay entry fees on the way out.
Note that Belgravia Leisure offer a range of casual visit and multi visit pass options. Detailed about these options are shown below and are available on the Drummoyne Swimming Centre website.
If any members, parents or carers have any questions about this please feel free to contact Club President Adrian Bell on 0424 561 831.

After a week of flooding rains, the skies turned blue at the perfect time for the 2022 Battle on the Bay swimming carnival at Drummoyne Pool!
We had a huge turnout for the carnival with 263 swimmers from Ashfield, Enfield, Drummoyne and Leichhardt Swimming Clubs.
The climax of the carnival was the hotly-contested 10x50m relay between the fastest swimmers from each club, with Drummoyne’s “A” team just touching out Leichhardt “A” in a tight finish!
Congratulations to Drummoyne swimmers Skye Lewis, Rex Wilson, Hayden Howard, Esther Romaniuk, Lily Borozan, Tadhg Donnellan, William Taylor and Sophie O’Brien for taking out Top 3 positions overall in their age groups.
Drummoyne came second in the overall team score, based on average points, with the Battle on the Bay Club trophy going to Leichhardt Swimming Club.
Thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors, including Ribs & Burgers Drummoyne, who made this such a successful event and a valuable fundraising effort for the Club.
Congratulations to Abigail Kerr, Christian Taylor, Isabelle Kerr, Jody Fowler, Rex Wilson, William Taylor and Ziani Viola on winning individual medals for top 3 positions in their age groups.
Our thanks go to Ashfield Swimming Club for professionally hosting the carnival at their brand new pool and congratulations to Leichhardt Swimming Club on taking out the Battle on the Bay trophy this year.
The entries and program for the 2021 Battle on the Bay have been finalised, with a record number of 363 swimmers this year from Ashfield, Drummoyne, Enfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville Swimming Clubs!
It’s fantastic to see so many clubs and swimmers in the twelfth year of the carnival, which was started by Drummoyne Swimming Club back in 2010.
Unfortunately, as a result of the large number of entries this year, the organisers have had to limit the number of events to fit everything into the available pool time. It was decided to keep the relays at the end of the carnival, as these are always the highlight, and to cancel the breaststroke events.
Accordingly, the program will be reduced to the following events:
