Results Week 2

The results for Saturday 19 October 2024 have been published here.

Meet Summary: 19th October 2024

It was yet another beautiful day at Drummoyne Pool, where the splash ‘n’ dash crowd strutted their stuff, handbrake turns and all! Never mind that the wind picked up to blow a dog off a chain, nothing could dampen the competitive spirit!

Banter in the Lane

Thomas Pacey arrived with shoes tied (almost) and was all set to clock a classic delay in the 100m freestyle. Phil Hayward, our lifer and poolside oracle, maintained his steady form while keeping a close eye on times.
The colossal clash between the Sendelbeck kiddos was akin to the Grand Slam, as Lara had em’ for company trying to pinch the points led by Mia who sprinted on like she had a rocket strapped on her back, leaving her siblings to take note!
New kid on the block, Elysha Fazzalaro, showed some promise—when not DQ’d rather poked though—but hey, all the talent starts somewhere.

Championship Shoutouts and Friendly Feuds

In the senior point score, Alec Yaqub was flying like a seagull after a Chippo chip, clocking a speedy finish with a ‘bestie’ at the line over the 100m. In contradiction, Adam Christodoulou trailed behind, ponderously swimming like in a scene from Jaws looking for his handicap start again.
Denver Pelly dropped in, conserving energy to hold on to his champion’s title, while former champs Frances and Adam Christodoulou kept each other’s company on the timing trials—with Frances sweeping past gracefully—as siblings ought to do.

Family Affairs and Rookie Revelations

Among our new prospects creating little waves today were the Rapisarda grandkids, Alessandro and Anna, taking a legendary long dive into the kiddie sprint zone, partly observed by seasoned Grandparent, Patricia Douglas!
Featuring the new debutantes were the Aitken duo, Suzie, as the quickest backstroke poster child and stabling that ritzy First-in-Lane Cup, while Hannah leisurely derricked almost at that top podium spot!

Points to Highlights

  • Swimmers of the Day: Harry Thompson smoked the pool deck, pegging a leading under-10 tally. Goldie going for gold like there’s no tomorrow!
  • Handicap Heroes: The biter bit back in ’20m Backstroke’ where Pat Pelly’s guide? Oh, he didn’t need one—just like a bat in pitch dark!
  • Tantalizing Tussles: Top nekastas in the water should know better than throwing stare downs. Alex Sellars clinched one solid finish, outed the 200m fins champeen and held tight along with rival Will Bolton from the edge of the deeper waters.

And that’s a wrap folks! Keep practicing your aerodynamics, keep tagging times, and see you splashing back next week – suncream applied, excitement amped, rain or shine!
