On Sunday 19th May some of our Drummoyne swim members took on the epic challenge to swim 10km from Bondi Beach around South Head and into the Harbour to finish at Watsons Bay. Amazing what some people will do for a Sunday beer! 😊

The team trained for months before building up confidence and capability in the ocean. The team would like to say a big thank you to the support crew of boat drivers, boat suppliers, kayakers and the family and friends who came to support. It was a huge achievement.

Well done to all involved!

Over 100 members and friends have already registered for Drummoyne Swimming Club’s end of season Annual Dinner and Presentation night. This special night is being held on Saturday 1st June 2019 from 6:30pm at Drummoyne Oval Pavilion.

We’re excited to announce more special guests attending our presentation night, including; City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas and his partner Heather as well as John Towns – our very own club historian to talk about a book he is creating.

This is a night on the calendar not to be missed including:

• Delicious meal

The next big swim that a couple of swim club members are participating in is the MS 24 Hour Mega Swim being held at Sydney Olympic Park Pool this weekend (25-26^th May 2019).

The MS 24 Hour Mega Swim is a fun team relay event where teams have a swimmer in the water for the entire 24 hours and compete for laps swum and money raised, in support for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Good luck and well done to those who are participating in this charity event.

Some very brave DSC members have been training hard for their upcoming Bondi to Watsons Bay 10km ocean swim. The team have been training in the pool and in the ocean, led by Annette Jamieson, to prepare themselves for this big race.

Many DSC members attended the first Winter Swim Meet on Sunday 5^th May swimming six races to stay fit over the Winter season. Swimming is for all ages and abilities, with races managed by our computerised handicapping and timing system.

Esther Romaniuk was the Epic Medley winner and won an Epic Pizza voucher. Well done Esther! 😊

Our second Winter Swim Meet is on Sunday 16^th June 2019 from 5.00-7.00pm at St Ignatius’ College, Riverview.

Our short, sharp fun program includes:

5:00 – 5:30 pm	25m Freestyle
5:30 – 5:55 pm	100m Medley (4x25m)
5:55 – 6:15 pm	50m Backstroke
6:15 – 6:40 pm	100m Freestyle
6.40 – 6.55 pm	50m Freestyle
6:55 – 7:00 pm	Relays
