As we dive into Week 16 of our summer racing season, we’re lining up for a special Saturday at Drummoyne Swimming Centre. With Valentine’s Day upon us, we’re hoping to feel the love in the pool—ideally in the form of fast times, big finishes, and maybe even a new championship record or two.
Race 1 – 100m Freestyle Championship
We open the morning with one of the blue‑riband events of the season: the 100m Freestyle Championship. This race always delivers excitement, and with Valentine’s Day energy in the air, we’re hoping our swimmers channel that passion straight into the water. A perfect moment for someone to etch their name into the club’s record books.
Race 2 – Tom Brown 50m Backstroke (Handicap) Trophy – Finals
Our second event is one of the club’s most prestigious trophy races: the Tom Brown 50m Backstroke Handicap Trophy. This trophy honours Tom Brown, grandfather of long‑time club member and dedicated club coach Lynette Brown.
Alex Sellars – great great grandson of Tom Brown will be gunning for the trophy this summer!

Race 3 – 200m Medley
We wrap up the morning with the 200m Medley, a true test of versatility and endurance. It’s always a crowd‑pleaser and a great way to finish the session.
Battle on the Bay – Coming Soon
The annual Battle on the Bay carnival is shaping up to be another fantastic afternoon of friendly rivalry and community spirit. Drummoyne will once again take on our neighbours from Leichhardt, Ashfield, and Enfield in a fun, fast‑paced inter‑club meet.
