Results Week 16

The results for Saturday 15 February 2025, including the 100m Freestyle Championships, have been published here.

It was yet another beautiful day at Drummoyne Pool, and didn’t we all love those mostly sunny skies with just a cheeky hint of a shower and the wind blowing those silly swim caps off at 25-35 km/h!

Event Highlights

Our morning got off to a cracking start with the 100m freestyle champs. Young Harry Thompson swam for glory, smashing the U10 Boys record with a stunning 1:15.78—crikey, someone get this lad a pair of flippers! Meanwhile, in the Under 6’s, Max Thompson showed he’s the king of the toddler pool, clocking in with a speedy 36.14 seconds!

Family Matters

All hail the Pacey clan! Thomas Pacey is leaving the birthday cake at home and taking no prisoners with top scores in the Senior Men’s point scores and leaving his teammate Alan with a sibling rivalry story for the ages. Not to be left behind, the rest of the fam (Jessica, Arthur, and Edward) are making sure we’re not short on Pacey presence in every event they dunk themselves in.

Schoolyard Rivals

The rivalry between Russell Lea Public and All Hallows students is making waves—literally. Henry Godden from Russell Lea edged out saints Edward Pacey and Alessandro Rapisarda in the U8 Boys 50m, all while juggling class timetables and recess grievances.

Special Mentions

  • Lynette Brown and Jennifer Tilyard’s family could hardly contain their pride as Tom Brown Trophy finals were tugging at the heartstrings.
  • Life member, Duncan Lyon, was back tearing through the water like he’s got the shoulders of a 20-something post-surgery.
  • Don’t forget, Sally Kudrna and Paul Martin, our Senior Women’s and Men’s point score champs (last year) weren’t short of competition plots either.

Perpetual Laughs

It’s not a true DASC day without a few laughs and the odd hiccup—Evan Christodoulou keeps the title of “fastest when he feels like it,” and Thomas Pearson continues asking for handicap starts like it was adding to his swimming speed.

So hats off to everyone, whether you broke your PB or got dunked at the turn. Keep those smiles and laughs flowing, ‘cause it’s just not the Drummoyne way without them. Catch you at the next splash on Saturday—don’t forget the sunscreen!
