Results Week 15

The results for Saturday 8 February 2025, including the 400m Freestyle Championships, have been published here.

It was yet another beautiful day at Drummoyne Pool with a brilliant combo of partly cloudy skies, a cheeky shower lurking around the corner and a chance of a thunderstorm to keep things interesting.

Championship Highlights

The biggest splash of the day came from Denver Pelly taking the Open Men’s 400m Freestyle title with a killer time of 5:03.06, leaving Ned Robinson trailing behind at 5:21.63. Talk about an H2-WHOA moment! And over in the Open Women’s, Elizabeth Allan showed everyone how it’s done in style, clocking 6:26.98 — those long strokes must be genetic, eh Charlotte?

Family Feuds and Battlefield Bruvs

The Wilson brothers continued their sibling rivalry in the Under 12s, where our little pocket rocket Rex Wilson steamrolled to first in the 400m with a wicked 5:48.09, barely keeping Jude Wilson at bay. That’s family for ya! Meanwhile Arden Hartley sliced a whole minute off his PB. Go Arden!

Blowin’ Out the Birthday Candles

Shout out to new joiners Cath Thompson and her kiddos from All Hallows Primary — must be the start list for the ‘Best Family Endurance’ trophy! And happy 14th b’day to Hugo Beresford-Harvey, keeping those time improvements rolling in.

Underwater Battles in the Handicap

In the Handicap showdown, Thomas Pacey reeled in top points in the Senior Men’s series, while Skye Lewis upped her game in the Under 12s, pushing closer to the championship lead. Must be something in the Lewis water!

Despite the rogue weather, you beaut Drummoyne churned out yet another exciting day in the pool. Swim ya later, folks! We’ll see who brings the competition next weekend with hopefully less thunder and a bit more sun.
