Christian Taylor, Drummoyne Swimming Club champion (and PLC Croydon Swim Club team member), has been mixing it with the big guns of Australian swimming at the Australian Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast.
Christian put in some stellar performances and now has the chance to fight it out for Olympic selection at the Australian Olympic trials in Adelaide in June.
Christians results were:
- 50m backstroke – placed 11th in the 18-21 year age group – Time of 27.46s
- 100m backstroke – placed 6th in the final of the 18-19 year age group – Time of 58.20s (qualifies him to swim at the Australian Olympic trials in Adelaide in June)
- 200m backstroke – placed 9th in the final of the 18-19 year age group – Time of 2.10.85
- 100m freestyle – placed 16th in 18-19 year age group – Time of 52.67
- 50m freestyle – placed 15th in 18-19 year age group – Time of 23.88s
