Team App Update: New Season, New Feature!

As we dive into a fresh season at Drummoyne Swimming Club, we’ve made a small but fun update to the Team App sign-in process — designed to bring a bit more motivation and personality to your Saturday race meets.

New Feature: “Personal Goals for Today?”

This season, swimmers will be prompted to share their personal goals when signing in via Team App. Whether you’re aiming to:

  • Complete a Time Trial,
  • Swim a new PB,
  • Or outpace your poolside rival…

Just type your goal into the “Personal goals for today?” field. At the end of each meet, our AI tool will compare your results against your goal — and if you hit the mark (or come close), you might get a shout-out in our post-race summary!

Prefer to keep your goals private? No worries — simply enter “-” and you’ll still be signed in as usual.

Quick Reminder: How Sign-In Works

When signing in for a Saturday race meet, you’ll be asked to complete a few simple questions:

  • Going / Non-Going – Select “Going” if you (or your child/dependant) plan to swim. If you’ve already RSVP’d “Yes,” this will be auto-selected.
  • Sprint / Form Stroke / Long Distance – Choose your race distances for each category. You can enter one race per category, plus a Time Trial if you’re trying a new distance.
  • Time Trial for any of the above? – Answer “Yes” if you’re swimming a Time Trial for a stroke or distance you haven’t raced before (or not last season).

Time Trials – What New Starters Need to Know

If you’re new to the Club or trying a longer race distance, you’ll need to complete a Time Trial before being entered into a race. This helps us record your swim time and match you with swimmers of similar pace in future meets.

Time Trials are typically required:

  • In your first few weeks at the Club.
  • When upgrading to a longer race distance (e.g. moving from 20m to 30m freestyle).

To request a Time Trial, simply:

  1. Select the new distance you wish to trial.
  2. Answer “Yes” to the “Time trial for any of the above?” question in Team App.
