Congratulations to Bernadette Flannery and Jack Slater for outstanding performances in the 2008 Pacific School Games in Canberra in the week ended 6 December 2008.
Bernadette won a gold medal in the Mixed 200m Medley Relay, a bronze medal in the Girls 50m Breaststroke and finished 4th in the Mixed 200m Freestyle Relay.
Jack shaved one second off his personal best time in the 100m Breaststroke, finishing up a credible 14th against extremely stiff competition.
Congratulations to Frances Christodoulou who was elected Girl Captain and Thomas O’Neill who was elected Boy Captain. They follow many fine young Club members of the past, over our 104 year history.
Congratulations to Nicholas Smyth, who has excelled in the MetSEA Area Championships on 30 November 2008, including a win in the 100m breaststroke and 2nd places in the 200m backstroke and 200m Individual Medley, continuing the strong tradition of our Club in regional events. Congratulations to Jack Slater for smashing his own Club Record for 50m Breaststroke in the Championship event on 6 December 2008, setting a new time of 34.23s in his Heat and 34.70s in the Final.

‘Swim Like the Stars‘ is a new, nationally recognised swim camp organised by swimming’s governing body, Swimming Australia.
‘Swim Like the Stars‘ is the ONLY camp of its kind open to the general public, which is endorsed by Swimming Australia. This pioneering swim camp will feature world class coaching, state of the art facilities, full accommodation, meals and special appearances by Australian Swim Team members.
The 4 day camps is for swimmers aged 12 years or older (as at 1 Jan 2009) and have achieved the minimum performance standards outlined below. This is to ensure the swimmer has the necessary ability to participate in the camp and to assist with training group allocations.

)MetSEA is a new Association, formed in March 2008 as an amalgamation of the City of Sydney District Swimming Association Inc and other swimming associations in the region, to promote swim meets in our area. The City of Sydney District Swimming Association Inc previously held the City of Sydney Carnivals, in which our Club has enjoyed considerable success. Club members are encouraged to represent our Club at MetSEA meets to continue our proud track record.
